The Annual Report of 2008, a year “fraught with financial challenges caused by the financial turbulence in the US which consequently morphed into a more serious economic crisis of global proportions,” as the chairman says in his opening message, features a rundown of events and highlights in deals and people, as well as awards received by FMIC for the year, and its accomplishments in corporate social responsibility. It also charts financial highlights in terms of total assets, gross revenues, total liabilities, total expenses, stockholders’ equity, net income and CAR in percentages. It also features a message from the Chairman and a report from the President, as well as detailed reports on outstanding deals, strategic business units and new business desks, corporate social responsibility, the new vision, mission and values of FMIC, reports on risk management and corporate governance. It also features the year’s current Board of Directors and Principal Officers, the company’s statement of management responsibility, independent auditors’ report, as well as audited financial statements for the year and Metrobank’s domestic subsidiaries.
